Reclaimed Water Pipe Break

RECLAIMED WATER PIPE BREAK

Due to a pipe break in a reclaimed water line in Seminole County, the supply to the City of Oviedo has been taken offline.

Details of the damage have not been provided.

The City regularly supplements its own reclaimed water supply with reclaimed water from Seminole County during dry weather periods as customer demand can sometimes outstrip the City’s own production rate of reclaimed water.  Due to the County’s pipe failure, City customers may experience periods of low reclaimed water service pressure and reduced service supply during high demand periods.

This will be especially noticeable during dry weather periods which the City is experiencing right now.  Residents are asked to adhere to County’s watering day and time restrictions and be considerate of private irrigation system watering time durations, in order to conserve the City’s available reclaimed water supply.  An estimate of the County’s pipe repair has not yet been provided to the City.

ATTENTION HOMEOWNERS – Zero Tolerance

ATTENTION HOMEOWNERS

Per the AWHOA Rules & Regulations 4.0, it is the homeowner’s responsibility to ensure full compliance of the rules and regulations of the Association by their charges and/or invited guests. This also includes tenants in any rental homes within Alafaya Woods.

We are seeing a violation of these rules at the AW Community Park. We are having to pickup people’s discarded trash on the basketball courts, tennis courts, parking area as well as throughout the playground. These items consist of things such as fast food bags, wrappers, cups & straws; water bottles, soiled diapers, and even cigarette butts and vape cartridges just to name a few. We have multiple trash receptacles throughout the park area & we expect all homeowners, their children, guests & tenants to pick up after themselves.

We have signs posted stating what the rules are regarding bicycles, skateboards, scooters, etc on the basketball courts. We are constantly seeing minors breaking these rules & then getting smart mouthed when told they need to remove the items from the courts.

We have seen the playground equipment being abused and vandalized such as children hanging from the basketball hoops causing them to sag and require repair, books pulled out of the library, ripped to shreds & thrown all around to include by the pond.

The park is equipped with surveillance cameras – this behavior will no longer be tolerated. To ANYONE caught violating the rules of the park and/or the rules of the AWHOA – Oviedo Police will be called & the violator(s) will be trespassed from the park (they will no longer be allowed in the park /playground area).

ZERO TOLERANCE!!
